Greg completely redesigned the front bumper. This baby has improved ground clearance, a winch, and a reinforced attachment for our two tow hitches. No, that is not a typo…we have TWO tow hitches. They allow us to attach any of the awesome gadgets that Greg has designed to make the Syncro the best expedition vehicle ever, not to mention the world’s best daily driver. Leaving to travel around the world? Just pop on the ‘moped-holder.’  Snow in the driveway? Stick the snow shovel on there.  As for the winch…the goal with a winch is never to have to use it, (although I’m pretty sure Greg wants to get VERY stuck).  The amount of work that Greg put into this bumper is more than most people put into their cars in a lifetime. Can’t wait to try it out! (Except for the winch part…)

Wow! Thanks so much to Henning and Dina Gramann at Syncro Services for ongoing support of our project! We just received front light and blinker guards, a dual-spray nozzle for the windshield, and a heavy-duty hatch hydrolic system. Never will we have to keep a broom in the back to prop open the hatch when Greg is working on the engine (or when we just want some fresh air on a warm night)!  All you other fellow Vanagon lovers who have been hit in the head with that hatch can imagine how much we appreciate Syncro Services! Check them out at www.syncro-services.com for vans and quality parts. Wir sind sehr gl├╝cklich, sie im Mitbeteiligung zu haben!

We just received the Webasto diesel space heater. It’s going to be a great addition to our setup. The plan is to use diesel as the main energy. We also plan to use the Cooktop X100 from Webasto as well so this way we won’t need any propane!! I have to decide where to put it while the van is not painted… make holes…

Helping people to find Subaru diesel!

Sorry for all this time with no update, but I had people asking me for Subaru diesel engines for all kinds of projects, so I had to help them out! I went to Japan to get the engines. It was really nice trip! We received them here in Nashville and shipped them out. People were so happy to get them! It was a really a good feeling. I never planned to import engines…it really sounds like a boring and dirty job but the engines are actually clean. Plus, all people that deal with the Subaru diesel just happen to be nice and smart. Turns out I like importing engines!

Hopefully with the help of some friends we can keep helping people get this awesome engine in the US while we are traveling…
